The charity have made it their mission to make a difference to everyone affected by cancer in our city— using the money raised by past fundraisers to provide free minibuses to St James’ Hospital in Leeds and fund a chemotherapy treatment unit, amongst a host of other services. For all the stargazers amongst us, membership of this society is the perfect way to develop your passion for astronomy. Joining up will invite you into a rich community where you’ll receive advice from fellow enthusiasts, discounted entry to public meetings and access to the society’s telescopes and equipment at the Battle Bank Farm observatory. Older Citizens Advocacy York (OCAY)
This charity for York’s Over-50s community provide support to 400 people across the city each year. OCAY are currently on the lookout for new trustees —particularly those with PR and marketing skills— to continue to help achieve their mission of giving older people a right to a voice in the decisions that affect them. Sign up for York’s newest scout troop to explore our area like never before and pick up some vital life skills along the way.
