Carers Week (led by Carers UK) is a national annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face, and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. This year, Carers Week runs from the 5th to the 11th of June and the theme is ‘Recognising and supporting carers in the community’. York Carers Centre will be celebrating all week with different events and activities across the city, and we’ve listed a few here below:
Caring 4 Carers Marketplace, Monday 5th of June
Samantha Ferguson, Training and Volunteer Officer will be at York Community Stadium from 11am until 5pm to provide information and advice to carers that work for the NHS.
Charity Awareness Day, Wednesday 7th of June
York Carers Centre will have an information stand on St Sampson’s Square (opposite Browns) in York City centre to raise awareness of carers, register new carers and provide information and advice to anyone in a caring role.
