Local organisation, Bayfields Opticians and Audiologists has been praised for their efforts to raise money for charities that support those who suffer from hearing and vision loss.
The team at Bayfields Opticians and Audiologists, which has its head office and nine of its 45 practices in Yorkshire and one in the city of York itself, managed to raise a staggering £1,820 from selling a variety of designer sunglasses and eyewear for just £10 a pair to its staff base, their friends and their family members too.
Having now raised the funds, the business has decided to split the donations between two significant charities: Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, a charity that supports individuals experiencing hearing loss, and Vision Care for Homeless People, which provides eye-care services to vulnerable or homeless people.
Speaking about this fantastic achievement, Abi Nelson, Supply Chain Manager, from Bayfields Opticians and Audiologists commented: “We’re pleased to have been able to raise some much-needed funds for two charities which are close to our hearts. We see firsthand the impact that hearing and sight loss can have on an individual, so we’re happy to be able to contribute to the fantastic work that these charities do to help them provide support to those who really need it.”
