Earlier this morning, it was announced that the much anticipated annual Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta will take place at the grounds of beautiful, North Yorkshire stately home, Castle Howard, this year.
Attracting over 60,000 guests annually on its former site at the Knavesmire in York, the Fiesta is now setting its sights even higher, with the hope that this new relocation will attract even more visitors. This year’s event at Castle Howard will also provide camping for the first time so that attendees can have the option to stay for the day or the entire weekend.
Weather permitting, hot air balloon flights will take off every morning and evening with more than 50 balloons from across Europe. The event will also be host to a range of fun activities for all of the family, including glow night displays, a fun fair, famous TV character meet and greets, and the world’s largest inflatable assault course.
Abbi Ollive, Head of Marketing, Sales, and Programming at Castle Howard, said: “We are thrilled to form this partnership and provide a beautiful location for such a vibrant event that’s become an essential moment in Yorkshire’s calendar. We look forward to welcoming Balloon Fiesta visitors to our grounds, and seeing everyone enjoy the stunning sight of the balloons above the Estate. We encourage visitors to book well in advance to ensure they can enjoy the whole experience!”
In addition to the fun activities, there will be multiple music stages, hosting a star-an exciting lineup of Eurovision star Sam Ryder, Sister Sledge, and entertainers for all ages, including Raver Tots, Andy and the Odd Socks, Dick and Dom and YolanDa’s Band Jam to name a few. The Fiesta’s finale will be on Monday evening and the full programme will be announced nearer the time.
The Yorkshire Balloon Fiesta is scheduled across the August bank holiday weekend from 25th-28th August 2023. For more information or tickets, please visit yorkshireballoonfiesta.co.uk.
