Take a visit to York’s latest and greatest pie pop-up

There’s nowt us folks in Yorkshire love more than a heavenly pie. If it’s not the latest date in your diary, let this be your forewarning that British Pie Week begins next week. Yes, from the 6th-12th March, you can celebrate all things pie (not that we need an excuse…) and what better way to celebrate than by visiting the latest pie pop-up in SPARK!?

The award-winning Yorkshire Handmade Pies launched earlier last month, in collaboration with York chef, Jack Richardson who previously ran vegan cantina El Rayo, to bring its tasty pies to the city.

The Ripon-based pie business made its online debut in 2020 and has since established itself as the home of delicious, locally-sourced pies, which include their Great Taste award-winning Steak and Kidney pie. Featuring a range of tasty pies that also cater for vegans and vegetarians alike, pie-lovers will be spoiled for choice.

Speaking of the company’s latest venture, James Sturdy, founder and MD of Yorkshire Handmade Pies said: “It’s exciting to bring our local handmade pies to the people of York. Jack is a brilliant chef who has added his own twist to our range with his delicious smoky garlic mash and umami gravy which takes the pies to another level.”

Looking for your pie fix? The Yorkshire Handmade Pie Pop-up is available at SPARK until the end of March. For more information, visit www.yorkshirehandmadepies.co.uk
