Wonderful women celebrating a decade of service

Founded in 2013 by Yvonne Copley, Kyra Women’s Project is a York charity that is a one-stop centre for women providing training programs, counselling, and support services to women who need assistance to improve their lives. Kyra helps women build self-confidence and independence, enabling them to address and resolve issues in a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment. Their services are available to all women, without exclusion, free of charge.

During Covid-19, like many charities, they took a hit to their fundraising but are hopeful that in their milestone anniversary year, Kyra will be able to get back up to their pre-pandemic levels.

To celebrate 10 years of Kyra they have planned numerous events throughout the year in order to showcase and promote the impact Kyra has on women throughout York and in turn, use these events as opportunities to fundraise to continue to support the 200 women a week who come to Kyra. One of their first events will be International Women’s Day, on the 8th of March from 10am-4pm, which will have a business and charity fair, tasty food and refreshments as well as amazing free activities kindly provided by volunteers and their ambassadors.
