Yorkshire’s flagship food festival returns on the Queen’s Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend (Friday 3rd – Sunday 5th June 2022)
The highly anticipated Malton Food Lovers Festival is set to return this spring across 3 days over the Queens Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend on the 3rd, 4th and 5th June 2022. Bringing a delicious mix of cookery demonstrations, street food, vibrant entertainment and more, you can expect a fun-filled weekend for foodies and festival-goers in the stunning Yorkshire countryside.
Fondly known as “Yorkshire’s Foodie Glastonbury” The Malton Food Lovers Festival is free to enter, and the fun will be kicking off at 9am on Friday and Saturday with a 10am start on Sunday.
There are over 100 stalls confirmed and a full itinerary of delicious demos and ‘sofa chats’ with celebrated local chefs on the main stage – so plenty to sink your teeth into, quite literally! All demos on the main stage are free of charge.
Also, new to this year’s festival is Archeologist and University of York Professor, Dr Penny Bickle, who will be bringing her demonstration on ‘Prehistoric cheese’, transporting visitors back in time. Plus foodie fans will have the chance to meet The Guardian’s acclaimed food journalist, Felicity Cloake, who will be holding a Q&A and book signing on the main stage at 2pm on Saturday 4th June.
Live music will add ambience to The Food Lovers Festival and you will also find musicians playing on street corners to add entertainment to the festival atmosphere.
There will also be a range of activities for the younger family members too, with Be Amazing Arts hosting a series of children’s workshops and activities over the entire weekend and Magical Quests North will be adding a jungle theme to Kemp’s Courtyard for the younger ones to enjoy!
Lastly, the fun doesn’t end there. The new Malton Sculpture trail is launching on Friday 3rd June to tie in with the festival, where visitors can see some of the best sculptures, 3D installations and projection displays all designed by local Yorkshire artists. The trail will be open for the entirety of the 3 day event.
The Malton Food Lovers Festival is free to attend with designated festival Park & Ride car parks operating at a small charge. The service will be available at each entrance to Malton via the A64, with regular shuttle busses taking you direct to the event entrance.
