Each month we sample some of the finest products that Yorkshire has to offer. This month we’ve travelled from the Yorkshire Dales to Filey. 

Filey Bay Tasting Experience

Yorkshire’s first single malt whisky, Filey Bay, is made by the ambitious Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery in Hunmanby, North Yorkshire. This forward-thinking whisky is made with 100% homegrown barley from the distillery’s farm. 

We love the whisky tasting experience that you can do in the comfort of your own home. The kit comprises of 3x 5cl bottles of Filey Bay Whisky, beautifully presented with tasting notes and completed with nosing and tasting guide. At YLL HQ, the firm favourite was the Filey Bay Moscatel Finish, a softer and sweeter whisky with warming notes of honeycomb and orange marmalade. So decadent. 

Hesper Farm’s Icelandic-Style Skyr Yoghurt

From a purpose-built dairy in the Yorkshire Dales, this pioneering young team have created a product that delivers on quality, nutrition and flavour.

The skyr is made using fresh milk from a pedigree heard and packs in protein and calcium but is naturally fat-free. 

It’s much thicker and creamier than your standard yoghurt making it feel super indulgent, despite the fact that Hesper’s Skyr is very much a healthy product at its’ core. We layered the natural yoghurt with berries and granola for a super tasty breakfast, but the coffee skyr is just stunning on its own.
