Halloween at York Maze will be a bit different this year as the family-friendly Hallowtween event takes centre stage. The award-winning event, Hallowscream, has unfortunately been cancelled due to Covid-19, but its sister halloween event is going ahead with an array of terrifying twists and turns for the whole family to enjoy.

Hallowtween is an up and coming event that had it’s first run at the Maze last year. This event aims it’s scares at 10-15 year olds, who are maybe too old for trick or treating. Thrill-seeking teens will enjoy Hallowscream’s infamous haunted houses, minus the terrifying actors that feature in the usual event. They can also experience creepy live stage acts, freaky street theatre and ghostly sideshows. If the scares get too much, there will be a festival-style food court, offering family-friendly food and drink.

This spooky event will run daily from Saturday 24th October 2020 until Sunday 1st November 2020. The tickets for the opening weekend at £12.50 for adults or children and any children visiting this event need to be accompanied by an adult. Tickets must be booked in advance, with half hour time slots, and to ensure social distancing is can be maintained, the Maze will be operating at only 25% of its capacity. Also, all visitors must wear a mask, and stay in their households or bubbles, regularly sanitising at the various stations.
