Studio 76 in York is celebrating after one of their beauticians placed sixth in the Miss English Rose Pageant.
Joni Turner, who works part time at the salon, travelled to The Prince of Wales Hotel, Southport for the qualifier of the Miss British Isles Pageant: “It was an experience like no other! I was nervous and excited. But the people you meet along the journey are very supportive. I would recommend anyone wanting to be a model to participate in a beauty pageant. Even for fun as it’s a great confidence booster!”
At the event Joni was required to go through three rounds, which were cocktail dress, swimwear and ballgown. The pageant is split into four age categories and is run in association with the modelling industry watchdog ALBA.
Studio 76 sponsored Joni throughout the event. Debbie, owner of Studio 76, said: “We were very proud to sponsor Joni for the Miss English Rose Pageant representing Studio 76 and Yorkshire. It’s a real achievement to place 6th out of 500 applicants in a National Event. Joni is one of our lovely Beauticians working part time at the Salon and she freelances as a model and TV extra as well. We encourage Joni to reach for the stars.”
