Get this – book five tickets to Chess for any performance and you’ll get £10 off! Perfect for large groups, or getting your friends together. You don’t need a code or anything like that – the magic of the internet will automatically discount your tickets down after you’ve added five to your basket.
And what a show it is, too – you won’t want to miss this incredible musical by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus of ABBA, and the legendary lyricist Tim Rice. Rarely performed, it’ll have you laughing, singing along, and maybe even shedding the odd tear.
Running for five performances only, Chess the Musical tells the heart-wrenching story of Russian chess player Anatoly Sergievsky and his wife Svetlana; American Grand Master Freddie Trumper and his second Florence Vassy; and the ongoing politics between the US and the USSR.
The show includes breath-taking choreography, outstanding performances from the most talented performers in and around Yorkshire, and, of course, phenomenal music. Songs include the toe-tappingly brilliant One Night in Bangkok, the romantic I Know Him So Well and the stunning Anthem.
With a modern set, sensational live 13-piece orchestra, and costumes to die for, this is the one show you must see this year.
Performances are 7.30pm daily with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Tickets cost £10-18 and can be purchased by clicking here.

24 Oct 2019 at 07:20Another outstanding performance from The Bev Jones Music Company last night.
Lots of familiar faces on stage last night, and, as usual, impeccable casting. All the singers and actors filled their roles with skill and ability.
This is a show with a LOT of music! For those expecting an Andrew Lloyd Webber type show, or a version of Mamma Mia, Chess is very different.
The colour theme of black and white helps mirror the idea of the chessboard, as does the costuming and choreography.
Honours of the night have to go to Claire Pulpher! Not only is she on stage in the demanding role of Florence for about 75% of the entire show – she choreographed all the dancing!
She is well-matched with Steven Jobson actor/singer as Anatoly. Big voices for 2 big parts!
Well done, Lesley Jones – you pulled it off again!
Normally I see their shows on Friday, which is too late to encourage people to see the show. This time, you can still (just) get seats – so do so!! Great entertainment.
